It's Time to Break Up the Unions Again - To Bring Efficiency and Productivity to Labor Markets
With the changes in government it appears that the pendulum has swung back towards the unions and this could damage free-markets, capitalism and competition in labor markets; causing inefficiencies, widening of trade deficits and increased regulations causing damage to corporations, their stock holders and profit potentials. It's a serious issue. When labor unions hold companies for ransom, through collective extortion and the help of their fiends in government to modify rules and regulations consumers are hurt with higher prices, artificial inflation and fewer choices. The higher prices come from increased labor costs at the companies that make the goods and services, which is passed on. The increased regulations to put companies at the mercy of labor unions and workers causes everything to cost more too, artificially inflating prices. Labor unions also are able to get government to put regulations in place that prop up unionized companies over their non-unionized competitors, forcing them to unionize or go out of business. Governments also put up trade barriers to protect unionized industry, and prevent low-cost labor overseas companies from competing in our markets, again raising prices and lessening consumer choice. If we truly wish to run an efficient and vibrant economy, then labor must compete for jobs in the labor markets, just like companies must stay efficient to compete in the Global Markets. If not, we are denying the economies of scale and the true benefits of capitalism. If we continue these sorts of policies to protect unions, we are only hurting all the rest of America. In essence everyone will suffer so a few unions can be overpaid and underworked. They live better and work union so you have to work harder and pick up the slack. Is that really fair? Since when?
